THE NUMBER of dogs entered for this year’s Crufts is the third highest in the show’s history.
With a total of 22,677 it follows the all-time high of 22,991 at the 1991 centenary show and falls just behind last year’s 22,930.
“Following hot on the heels of the news of an increase in the number of pedigree puppies registered in 2008, this confirms the ongoing overwhelming popularity of dogs,” said KC spokesman Caroline Kisko.
